Hünengrab 846 near Grosz Stavern, Emsland (Germany)

Another beautiful example of a giant  hunebed in Emsland. The green moulded stoneheap still exists in its full extent. 25 Meters long and that is 2,5 m longer than D27, the biggest hunebed in the Netherlands. Originaly the hunebed possessed 11 capstones and 8 are still there. There were 30 uprights and only 4 are missing. The grave used to have a 3 m long entrance consisting of 4 side- and 1 capstone, but only a few fragments of them are left. Whether this passage grave once had a ring of kerbstones is not certain. Anyway, they have not been found.
